Harrogate Herbal Medicine Ltd - For Your Whole Health
What is herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine is the treatment of illness using plant materials and extracts. Plant medicines have been used for centuries from the tribal medicine man or woman, to the old apothecaries and on to the combination of traditional knowledge and scientific practice seen in herbal medicine today.

About your herbalist
My name is Helen Compton and I have been practising herbal medicine for 8 years, having had a wish to be a herbalist since I was 5 years old! I qualified from the College of Phytotherapy in 2004, and have been teaching on the BSc in Herbal Medicine at Leeds Metropolitan University for the past 4 years. I also act as a supervisor in the training clinic for this course. Outside of practice and teaching, I offer talks, workshops and guided herb walks to interested groups - please do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested in this service. I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your health and wellbeing needs.

Professional Membership
I am a member of both the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy, two of the leading professional bodies for medical herbalists in the UK. I am required to adhere to a strict code of ethics, engage in continuing professional development and maintain full insurance as conditions of my membership.
